India is so popular for its ancient knowledge of yoga
that people from the four corners of the world travel to the country to
learn and practice this art form. Comprising of asanas or postures, Yoga
is a form of exercise that makes its practitioner capable enough to
control his /her mind and physical being. It rejuvenates the mind and
soul and brings out the best in you. So, whenever you feel too bogged
down by the tensions of the daily life, travel to India and refresh
yourself with the ancient technique of yoga.
Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
After you arrive at the New Delhi International airport, you will be
received by our representative. He / She will accompany you to your
hotel, where you will check in and rest for sometime. You go for a mini
sightseeing spree in the afternoon to view the Red Fort, Qutub Minar,
Jama Masjid and other such interesting places. You spend the night at
the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi - Rishikesh
After having an early breakfast, you depart from Delhi to reach
Rishikesh city of Uttarakhand via road. On reaching your destination,
you halt at a rest house / hotel for lunch. You then head for the Yoga
ashram, where upon implementing the registration formalities, you will
be handed a kit containing all that you will require during your stay
there. You will be served pure vegetarian food for dinner. Night stay is
at the ashram.
Day 03: Rishikesh Yoga Ashram
After you have a simple breakfast, a short ceremony will be convened to
welcome you. Thereafter, you will attend a Yoga class where you will be
told about the benefits of practicing this ancient Indian form of
exercise. This will be followed by a short tea break, after which you
will attend another class where different postures of yoga like Pranayam
and Meditation and their techniques will be demonstrated. Later you will
go for a stroll and watch a cultural program. Have dinner and go to
sleep in the ashram.
Day 04: Rishikesh Yoga Ashram
After an early morning prayer, you attend Yoga class again, where new
postures or Asanas will be taught to you. There will be a short tea /
coffee break. You practice some more Yoga and then ask the therapist to
teach you such postures that will cure specific ailments that you may be
suffering from. You have lunch after this. In the afternoon, you visit
the exotic herbal gardens and other ashrams. Have your dinner and stay
overnight at ashram.
Day 05: Rishikesh Yoga Ashram
You wake up early in the morning and practice the yoga postures you
were taught the previous day. Meditate for some time and then have your
lunch. You attend another Yoga practice class. Have your dinner and stay
overnight at the ashram.
Day 06: Rishikesh Yoga Ashram
Practice Yoga and meditation in the morning. Later, you leave for
sightseeing to of the holy city, Rishikesh. You have a simple lunch
after returning to the ashram. Practice some more Yoga and Meditation.
Have your dinner and stay overnight at the ashram.
Day 07: Rishikesh - Deoprayag - Rishikesh
In the morning, you head for Deoprayag, situated at a distance of about
70 km from Rishikesh. This place is famous because two Indian holy
rivers - Bhagirathi from Gaumukh and Alaknanda from Satopanth, join here
to form the sacred Ganga river. This place is a popular pilgrimage site
for Indian people. You will have a sumptuous lunch at Deoprayag. Later
you get back to the ashram, have your dinner and stay overnight.
Day 08: Rishikesh Yoga Ashram
You get ready to practice Yoga and meditation. Have your lunch. You
have a meeting with the Yoga therapist to discuss any problems that you
may be facing during Yoga practice, as this is your last day at the
ashram. You will attend a short closing ceremony. Have dinner and stay
overnight at the ashram.
Day 09: Rishikesh - Corbett National Park
You will be driven down to the world renowned Corbett National Park in
Nainital district of Uttarakhand, one of the finest Tiger reserves in
India. After you arrive here, check in at a rest house / resort here.
Have dinner and stay the night at the rest house/ resort.
Day 10: Corbett National Park Sightseeing
Corbett National Park is India's oldest national park, built in 1936.
It was earlier called the Hailey National Park. When you go on a jeep
safari of this park, you will see wild animals like the Tiger, Elephant,
Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Gharial, King Cobra, Indian Muntjac, Wild Boar,
Hedgehog, and so on. It's a favorite haunt of bird lovers, as it is home
to nearly 600 species of birds. Return to the lodge for night stay.
Day 11: Corbett National Park - Delhi
You head for Delhi today. With an approximate distance of 320 kms
between these two places, it will take you approximately 7 hours to
reach your destination. In the evening, you can go around to explore the
local markets in Delhi. Night stay will be at the hotel.
Day 12: Delhi - Agra - Delhi
You leave Delhi to reach Agra early today. See the world famous Taj
Mahal, Agra Fort and other tourist places there. Thereafter, you return
to Delhi from where you will be transferred to the airport to board your
return flight.
