Shikaras is the Indian name of the beautiful traditional houseboats of Kashmir you see plying on the famous Dal Lake and other water bodies. They come in varied designs and are used by the locals for purposes like transportation, fishing and seaweed-harvesting. It also serves as home for some of the people. There are even florists who operate their business from these houseboats, which look pretty laden with flowers. Many people coming to Kashmir on travel packages prefer staying on these house boats, throughout their trip.

Day 01: Arrival at Srinagar
You arrive at the picturesque Srinagar city situated in the heart of Kashmir. You will be received by our representatives and escorted to one of the splendid looking houseboats of Kashmir. You can have supper or dinner either at a hotel or in the houseboat as per your desire. Night stay will be at the houseboat only.

Day 02: Srinagar Sightseeing
You can go for a houseboat travel across the famous Dal Lake, visit the Char Chinar hill station and the Floating Gardens. Dinner and accommodation facilities will be provided on the houseboat.

Day 03: Srinagar - Gulmarg
After you eat your breakfast, you leave the houseboat for an overnight travel to the beautiful hill resort of Gulmarg via road. Its name means the 'Meadow of Flowers'. The valley boasts of having one of India's best skiing resorts and golf courses. The view of the snow clad mountain ranges that you get from here is simply breathtaking. You can also enjoy the lovely sunrise and sunsets here. Night stay will be at the resort.

Day 04: Gulmarg - Srinagar
You head back to Srinagar and the cozy houseboat today. During afternoon, you go for a sightseeing tour of the three majestic Mughal Gardens - Chashmashahi, Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. Later, you also visit the Shankaracharya temple. Meals will be served at the houseboat, where you stay overnight.

Day 05: Srinagar - Pahalgam - Srinagar
Early morning after breakfast, you go visit Pahalgam, the peaceful mountain town situated on the banks of river, Lidder. This place serves as the venue for base camps for trekkers who wish to hike upto the famous Amaranth Cave. In the evening, you return to Srinagar. You can eat on the houseboat or any hotel. Night stay will be at the houseboat.

Day 06: Srinagar Departure
The morning will be spent at leisure. Thereafter, you leave for the Srinagar Airport to catch a flight to your destination.
