Ladakh valley is India's highest plateau region,
sandwiched between the Kuen Lun mountain range in the north and the main
Great Himalayas in the south. People travel to Ladakh because it's a
remote scenic mountainous belt nurturing a vibrant Buddhist culture. The
valley's strategic location gave it prominence even in the past, when it
served as the crossroad of important trade routes. Summer temperature of
Ladakh average around 27 degrees Celsius, while winter temperatures can
dip to as low as -20 degrees at the higher reaches. Best time to travel
to Ladakh is from June to October.
Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
After you have reached the Delhi International Airport, you will be
received by our representatives and escorted to your hotel for a check
in. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi Sightseeing
Delhi, the capital of India, is a unique metropolitan city, where you
will find upscale discos and hotels alongside the historic forts and
palaces. The second day of your trip will be spent viewing these only.
Important tourist spots on your itinerary will include Red Fort, the
Jama Masjid, Humayun's Tomb, Birla Mandir and Qutab Minar, India Gate,
President's House and Connaught Place. You spend the night at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi - Leh
You will catch an early morning flight to Leh town of Ladakh. Our
representative will be present at the airport to receive you. After you
check in at the hotel, you can choose to spend the morning hours at
leisure. During afternoon, you can take stroll around the Leh Bazaar.
You spend the night at the hotel.
Day 04: Leh Monasteries
You will visit the Thiksey, Hemis and other famous monasteries at Leh.
On your way back from the monastery sightseeing tour, you will see the
Shey Palace. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 05: Leh - Chumathang - Tsomoriri
In the morning, you leave for Chumathang Stop, renowned for its hot
spring. Many tourists bathe in its waters to cure ailments. Located a
short drive away is the Maha bridge, which is an important check point
for any tourist vehicle entering this area. You visit the Sumdah village
next and another 55 km drive will take you to Tsomoriri. The lake at
Tsomoriri is the breeding ground for exotic birds such as the Bar-Headed
Goose, Crested Grebe, Brahmini Duck, etc. You can spend the night here
in a tent.
Day 06: Tsomoriri Lake
You visit the Korzok village in the morning. Afternoon is spent around
the lake. Later you have dinner under a brightly lit sky and then sleep
in the tent.
Day 7: Tsomoriri - Korzok - Puga - Tsokar - Tanglangla - Leh
You drive up to the Mahe village in the morning, which is quite popular
for its shooting fountain and pellucid sky. Next destination is Puga
valley that is famous for Butan gas. Then, visit Tsokar, via Polokongka
Pass, situated at an altitude of 4,090 m. You can also visit Thugke
Gompa. Continue driving towards Leh, via the Tanglangla Pass, which is
the second highest motorable pass in the world. On reaching Leh in the
evening, you spend the night at the hotel.
Day 8: Leh Sightseeing
Soar up your spirits by rafting in the waters of river Indus that
stretches from Phe to Nimu. Relish sumptuous lunch alongside the Indus
bank and then return to the hotel in the evening. Stay overnight in the
hotel.
Day 9: Leh - Khardongla Pass - Leh
Pack off for an excursion to the Khardongla Pass, which is the world's
highest motorable pass at 5,600 metres. The sight of the snow capped
mountains all around is bound to astound you. In the afternoon, you
return to the hotel and spend the night there.
Day 10: Leh - Delhi (Via flight)
Your Ladakh tour ends in Delhi today. You reach here via flight from
Leh. On the very same day, you board a flight from Delhi International
Airport to your next destination.
