If you wish to see the major cities located in the
Northern part of India leisurely, it is advisable that you go on a
travel package that has train as the primary mode of transportation. The
rail journey will give you a kaleidoscopic view of the local lifestyle
of people. At the same time, the brief halts and sightseeing sprees of
ancient north Indian cities like Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Agra will narrate
you tales about the India that was.
Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
You will be received by our representative upon your arrival at Delhi.
He /She will then escort you to your hotel. You will check in at the
hotel and rest for the night.
Day 02: Delhi - Jodhpur
After an early breakfast, you leave for a sightseeing tour of Delhi.
You will see the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Jantar Mantar, Parliament House,
Birla Temple, Akshardham Temple, Qutab Minar and other tourist
attractions. You return to your hotel room, collect your luggage and
head for Jodhpur city of Rajasthan, via train. Check in at the hotel
after reaching Jodhpur and stay overnight.
Day 03: Jodhpur Sightseeing
Jodhpur is an ancient city of Rajasthan founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha
and is the second largest one after Jaipur. Among the must-see tourist
spots here are the world famous Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace,
Royal Cenotaph Jaswant Thada, Clock Tower and Sadar Bazaar. You return
to the hotel in the evening and spend the night there.
Day 04: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer
You will have the morning to yourself, to spend at leisure. By
afternoon, you will pack your luggage and check out of the hotel. You
will be escorted to the railway station from where you board an
overnight train to the next city in Rajasthan, Jaisalmer.
Day 05: Jaisalmer Sightseeing
When the train reaches Jaisalmer in the morning, our representative
will be present at the railway station to receive you. You will then be
escorted to your hotel. After breakfast and some rest, you leave for a
sightseeing tour of the city. Visit Jaisalmer's magnificent havelis,
each elaborately carved out of golden yellow sandstone. The
Patwon-ki-Haveli or the House of the Brocade Merchants is the largest
and most elaborate of all havelis at Jaisalmer. Tour the beautiful
Gadisar Lake and then go to see the Royal Cenotaph of the Rawals in
Barra Bagh. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 06: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
Have a hearty breakfast in your hotel room. You have some time left
before you leave for returning to Jodhpur. So you have the option to
either relax in your hotel room or shop in the local markets. You will
reach the railway station by afternoon, to catch an overnight train to
Jodhpur. You will reach your destination next morning.
Day 07: Jodhpur - Udaipur
After you arrive at Jodhpur, you check into the hotel room, have
breakfast and rest. Later you drive down to Udaipur for sightseeing.
Udaipur is a culturally vibrant city and there're many seeable tourist
spots here, like the Lake Palace, Jag Mandir, Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal,
Jagdish Temple and the Maharana Pratap Memorial. Return to the hotel by
evening and spend the night.
Day 08: Udaipur Sightseeing
You go on a full-fledged sightseeing tour of Udaipur today. It is also
known as the 'Venice of the East' because of its beautiful lakes,
Pichola, Fateh Sagar, Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar. Infact, Fateh Sagar
embodies two small islands, one of which houses the Udaipur solar
observatory and the other a garden called Nehru Garden. You can visit
these as well as the Sajjangarh Fort atop a hill overlooking all lakes.
It was once the summer resort of the Maharajas. Other places of interest
include Sukhadia Circle, Moti Magri and so on. Overnight stay will be at
the hotel.
Day 09: Udaipur - Jaipur
You are free till the afternoon today, so you can spend the time as you
wish. You may rest at the hotel or take an excursion to Eklingji and
Nagda temples. Later, you will be escorted to the railway station, where
you will catch your overnight train to Jaipur.
Day 10: Jaipur Sightseeing
There are many places of tourist interest in Jaipur. You can spend the
day seeing the City Palace that has a perfect blend of Rajasthani and
Mughal architecture and the Albert Hall that has a large collection of
woodwork, jewelry, costumes, brassware. Also see the Hawa Mahal or
Palace of Winds, which is considered the landmark edifice of Jaipur
among other things. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 11 Jaipur - Agra
After breakfast, pack your luggage as you have to leave for Agra in the
afternoon. You reach the railway station on time and board the train to
Agra. After you reach your destination late in the evening, you check in
at the hotel. The night stay will be at the hotel.
Day 12 Agra - Delhi
You spend the first half seeing the renowned Taj Mahal, the Agra Fort
and the Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb. Check out of your hotel on time to reach
the railway station, from where you catch the train to Delhi. Once you
reach the capital, you will be escorted to the airport, where you will
board the plane to your destination.
